1. Course Enrolment / Booking Terms & Grades

1 By submitting an online application / or online course enrollment / payment and booking for any of our TEFL training programs, you hereby agree and accept the terms & conditions laid out in this page.

2 Grades are based on theory, grammar assignments and lesson planning. The cumulative score will determine your final grade.

3 The overall pass grade is 70%. Students that have not passed, will be given the opportunity to re-take the failed course module quiz tests. Every effort is made to assist students to pass the TEFL course. The average student pass rate is 96%. A certificate of TEFL / TESOL is awarded to those who have completed the 120-hour course.

4 The 20-hour / 2-day weekend TEFL Practical course is a supplementary course that is recommended as part of the comprehensive 140-hour Combined TEFL package. A separate certificate of “20-hour TEFL practical” is awarded to those who have completed the required 20-hours training. The practical is delivered by Cambridge qualified TEFL teacher trainers.

2. TEFL / TESOL / CELTA  courses Moderation, Certification & Accreditation 

         The Online TEFL courses are delivered and moderated by International TEFL Organisation (ITO). Est. 2004 Reg. Singapore. Over 17500 trained ESL teachers. ITO are Institutional Me members of IATEFL. Member 31183

     The Practical TEFL courses are delivered by approved Cambridge ESOL teacher trainers. Moderated by TEFL SA.

     The Online Teacher Knowledge Test (TKT) course is delivered by Cambridge University ESOL. Practical tests are moderated by Cambridge ESOL approved centres worldwide.

     The Cambridge CELTA course is delivered and moderated by Cambridge ESOL approved training centres. Enrolement in the 4-week full time CELTA is by assessed application only.

 Cambridge ESOL is part of the University of Cambridge UK regulated by UK government accreditation.TEFL SA Pty Ltd is a private registered SA company Reg No 201727156107. We pledge to deliver affordable ESL teacher training systems from accredited and respected institutions.  When you buy an online TEFL course  or attend our ESL practical class courses, your training and certification is  recognised and accepted by all English as a Second Language (ESL) employers worldwide.

3. Payment & Booking

For the online and weekend practical TEFL

Access and enrollment to the 120-hour online course is available immediately after successful payment online through Payfast secure payment portal. Various methods of payment are available through PayFast.  

Direct payment option via TEFL SA Pty Ltd South African bank account is available by requesting a pro-forma invoice through our website. In this case, login details will be forwarded on proof of payment or payment clearance.

Rescheduling rules for the TEFL 2-day practical TEFL course.

You may reschedule your course once, up to10 days before the course date you initially chose.

Unfortunately, we do not refund, reimburse course fees for not showing up or cancelling for any reason whatsoever.

You can enrol in the Weekend practical course anytime using your Classic online TEFL course voucher or book direct online here.

For admission to the CELTA course, the procedure and payment is as follows:

      1. Complete the CELTA application. 

       2. E-mail the application to: support@tefl-southafrica.co.za

      3. The Training center will contact you thereafter for a short personal /skype / telephonic interview depending on your location circumstance.

      4. When candidate is accepted, a 50% deposit of the course fee is payable to secure your place in the Cambridge CELTA course class. Balance due 30 days before course start date. Please ensure your course fees are available to you before applying.

      5. CELTA class is limited to 12 candidates. Place in the class is secured by payment. No refunds after payment. Rescheduling is arranged. 

 Overseas 4-week TEFL overseas course

1 Once your application has been provisionally accepted by International TEFL Organization you will be asked to pay a non refundable deposit. Your full course fee is due 30 days before the course date.

2. If for any reason you need to cancel your place on a course after making payment, International TEFL Organization cannot provide any refunds under any circumstances whatsoever. We will, however, be happy to extend your completion time from 3 months to up to 24 months if required.

3 No refund will be issued to any student who is expelled from an TEFL course, or who fails to complete the course, under any circumstances whatsoever.

4 The ITO will not be held responsible for compensating or reimbursing any travel or accommodation costs, including flights and all other related, and non-related expenses, under any circumstances whatsoever.

5 All students must complete the iTEFL online course within 6 months of the booking date. Students may request an extension of time, which will be awarded at the tutor’s discretion.

4. ESL Job Placements

1 Our approved TEFL certificates are accepted throughout the world by reputable organisations who employ English Language teachers. This means that you will most likely secure a teaching job before, or shortly after, you complete your iTEFL course. We may introduce you to our Job Placement agents and employers.

2 Please remember that all job placements are subject to an interview by the prospective employer. Due to the high number of sub-standard applications ESL employers now receive by email we strongly recommend that you call first to arrange a meeting, rather than applying by email, to be sure of securing an interview.

3 We do not arrange job placements on your behalf but will provide full support advice and contacts to assist you in finding work.

5. Code of Conduct

International TEFL Organization expects all students to act professionally at all times and to abstain from destructive, distracting, illegal or disrespectful behavior when teaching English overseas.

6. Complaints

1 Any complaints should be sent to us by email within 30 days of completing your TEFL course and we will respond within 1 business day by email. We aim for 100% customer satisfaction and you are assured that your complaint will be dealt with swiftly by senior management.

2 We welcome customer feedback and constructive criticism. However, we will not allow misinformation, gossip, hearsay, lies or defamation about our organisation and/or staff to be posted online in any forum, blog, website or other media.

7. Disclaimer

1 Neither TEFL SA, International TEFL Organization, nor any of its subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives or licensees shall be liable to you or anyone else for any loss or injury or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or similar damages arising out of your access or use of, or your inability to access or use, the service and the sites and the information available on the service and the sites or arising out of any action taken in response to or as a result of any information available on the service and the sites. You hereby waive any and all claims against International TEFL Organization and its subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives and licensees arising out of your use of the service and the sites and the information available thereon.

2 We’ve tried to make the information on this website as accurate as possible, but it is provided ‘as is’ and we accept no responsibility for any loss, injury or inconvenience sustained by anyone resulting from this information. You should verify critical information (like visas, health, and safety, customs and transportation) with the relevant authorities before you travel to any country.

3 All information on this website is subject to change without notice. Monthly earnings, rent, accommodation, living costs etc will depend on your host school, location, hours worked and economic conditions and other factors outwith our control. You cannot hold us liable in any way for these changes.

4 You are responsible for arranging adequate travel and medical insurance cover for the duration any travels.

8. Privacy Policy

1 TEFL SA and ITO respects your privacy. Any personal information you provide to us including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of iTEFL.

2 External Sites. iTEFL is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

3 Cookies. A “cookie” is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows iTEFL to recognize you each time you visit this site. Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and International TEFL Organization does not use cookies to collect personal information. Cookies may also be used by 3rd party content providers such as news feeds.
