1. Online Course Enrolment, Practical Bookings & Grades

a) By submitting an online application / or online course enrolment / payment and booking for any of our TEFL courses and training programs, you hereby agree and accept the terms & conditions laid out in this page.

b) TEFL online course grades are based on quiz test multiple questionnaire for each of the eleven lesson modules.  The cumulative score will determine your final grade.

c) Pass grades on all tests is Seventy Percent (70%). Failed tests can be retaken until a pass mark is achieved. All lesson content can be downloaded. However, to move on to the next lesson quiz test the student is required to complete and pass the previous test until a final test becomes available at the end of the course. The TEFL certificate becomes available to download after passing the final test.

d) The 20-hour / 2-day weekend TEFL Practical course is recommended as an essential part of the TEFL teacher training program through the 140-hour Combined TEFL package. The “20-hour TEFL practical” certificate is awarded to those who have attended the required 18-hours practical training and completed a Reflective Task assignment within a few days after the practical training. The practical course is delivered online via Zoom. No Zoom subscription is required.

2. TEFL / TESOL / CELTA  courses Moderation Accreditation

         All online and Practical TEFL teacher training courses are delivered by TEFL SA based on British Council methodology for English language teaching. The course moderated in-house by TEFL SA and qualified Cambridge DELTA teacher trainers 

     The Online Teacher Knowledge Test (TKT) course is delivered by Cambridge TKT. Practical tests are moderated by Cambridge ESOL approved centres worldwide.

     The Cambridge CELTA course is delivered and moderated by Cambridge ESOL approved training centres. Enrolement in the 4-week full time CELTA is by assessed application only. CELTA info Here

3. Applications, Payments & Booking.

a) The 120 -hour online and  20-hour weekend practical TEFL

Access to the TEFL platform to register for the 120-hour online course is available immediately after successful payment online through Payfast secure payment portal. Various methods of payment are available through PayFast. A receipt / Proof of Payment is immediately sent your email address.

Direct payment option (EFT, at ATM or bank teller) via ABSA Bank SA. Account details is available on a pro-forma invoice Here . Login details will be forwarded on proof of payment or payment clearance.

b) The TEFL Practical course 

The TEFL student has a choice of weekend dates (Saturday & Sunday. 8am-5pm). Select one weekend to attend in-class at a city venue or online via Zoom.

Bookings and class sizes are limited and specific to venues and platforms. No course fee refunds or reimbursements for not showing, cancelling or partial attendance for any reason.

Rescheduling is permitted one time only per student conditional: Strictly up to 10 days before the students original booked course date selected. Medical exclusion requires a medical certificate for a free reschedule. Second bookings are offered at a discount.

 Students who select Classic or Pro TEFL online packages only, can enrol in the TEFL practical course anytime. Simply use the function on the TEFL platform or email / call us with your request for a booking.

The 20-hour TEFL Practical course is delivered online via Zoom classrooms.

c) Admission to the Cambridge CELTA course:

      1. Complete the CELTA application found Here.

       2. E-mail the application to: support@tefl-southafrica.co.za

      3. The Training center will contact you thereafter for a short video or in-person interview depending on your location circumstance at the time.

      4. When candidate is accepted, a 50% deposit of the course fee is payable to secure your place in the Cambridge CELTA course class. Balance due 30 days before course start date. Please ensure your course fees are available to you before applying.

      5. CELTA class is limited to 12 candidates. Place in the class is secured by payment. No refunds after payment. Rescheduling is arranged. 

 d) 4-week TEFL overseas course

1 Once your application has been provisionally accepted by International TEFL Organization you will be asked to pay a non refundable deposit. Your full course fee is due 30 days before the course date.

2. If for any reason you need to cancel your place on a course after confirming and making payment,  TEFL SA cannot provide a full  refund. We will, however, extend your completion time from 3 months to up to 24 months if required.

3 Refunds will not be issued to any student who is expelled from a TEFL course, or who fails to complete the course.

4 The TEFL SA will not be held responsible for compensating or reimbursing any travel or accommodation costs, including flights and all other related, and non-related expenses, under any circumstances.

5 All students must complete the TEFL online course within 6 months of the booking date. Students may request an extension of time, which will be awarded at the course managers discretion.

4. ESL Job Placements

1 Our approved TEFL certificates are accepted throughout the world by reputable organisations who employ English Language teachers. This means a teaching job is likely, shortly after you complete your TEFL course. We can assist you by introducing you to approved ESL job placement agents (Teacher recruiters) and / or ESL school employers or specialist ESL online schools.

2 All job placements are subject to your application and interview by the prospective employers.

5. Code of Conduct

TEFL SA, expects all teacher students to act professionally and ethically at all times.

6. Student Complaints

1 Student complaints should be sent to managements attention by email within 30 days of completing your TEFL course. Complaints will be dealt with appropriately and swiftly by senior management.

2 We welcome customer feedback and constructive criticism of our courses and teacher training to be emailed to the TEFL SA management for engagement. We do not welcome misinformation, hearsay or slander about our organisation or staff to be posted online in any forum, blog, website, social media or other public media.

TEFL SA reserves the right to suspend any student who does not abide by the rules.

a) TEFL SA (Pty) Ltd nor any of its directors, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives or licensees shall not be liable in any way for any loss or injury or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or similar damages arising out of your access or use of, or your inability to access or use, the service and the websites and the information available on the service and the websites or arising out of any action taken in response to or as a result of any information available on the service and the websites. You hereby waive any and all claims against TEFL SA (Pty) Ltd and its directors, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives and licensees arising out of your use of the service and the websites and the information available thereon.

b) We take great care in publishing correct information on this website. However, we accept no responsibility for any financial loss, injury or inconvenience sustained by anyone resulting from your actions based on our advice and information. You should verify critical information (like visas, health, and safety, customs and transportation) with the relevant authorities before you travel to any country.

c) All information on this website is subject to change without notice. Monthly earnings, rent, accommodation, living costs etc, will depend on your host school, location, hours worked and economic conditions and other factors out of our control.

d) You are responsible for arranging adequate travel and medical insurance cover for the duration any travels.

9. Refunds & Cancellations

Online Course

Refund requests must be submitted in writing up to seven days from purchase. Refunds are not approved if the course has been accessed with a personal Username and Password.

A TEFL online course that has been accessed, cannot be refunded. Access to the course platform means the user has opportunity to download, view and study/use the licensed digital course material you paid for. No provision is made for students to “sample” the course material before enrollment. View course content and curriculum before enrolling here. 

You may assign or donate your paid course to another student with 14 days, provided you have not submitted any tests or assignment. T&C’s apply.

If you are unable to complete the online TEFL course within 6 months of  enrolment / payment due to illness, we will consider extending your course expiry date on request prior to the expiry date and at TEFL SA management discretion.

We want you to succeed teach English abroad or online and we’ll do everything we can to encourage you to complete your course and gain your TEFL certification. TEFL is a skill set you will earn for life.

TEFL SA (Pty) Ltd adheres to consumer laws and regulations.

Practical Course

Refund requests must be submitted in writing up to seven days from purchase. Refunds are not approved if the course has been accessed with a personal Username and Password.

You may reschedule your booked TEFL Practical course date, one time only, free of charge, and up to ten days before your original booked date. Course booking expires after 6 months unless a prior arrangement was made.

8. Privacy Policy

a) TEFL SA respects your privacy. Any personal information you provide to us including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of TEFL SA course of business with you.

b) External Sites TEFL SA is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

c) Cookies. A “cookie” is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows TEFL SA to recognize you each time you visit this site. Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and TEFL SA does not use cookies to collect personal information. Cookies may also be used by 3rd party content providers such as news feeds.
